My name is Natalie Hess, and I’ve just embarked on my journey to becoming a teacher.
I’ve always known I’ve wanted to be a teacher. My parents could tell numerous stories in which I taught my stuffed animals geography before I could even read a map myself. At the end of high school, I had a chance to intern in a 5th grade classroom. That moment confirmed to myself that teaching is what I feel called to do. The strong bond I developed with my students was nothing short of magical. Now, their class picture hangs in my dorm as a reminder of my “why.”
I have my sights set on becoming a middle or high school English teacher one day, but until then, join me as I learn all there is to the profession I am so passionate about pursuing!
